Hi Conscious Writers!

One of my priorities this week is to clear my work space of books, folders and papers relating to areas of focus that I’m moving on from to open the way for new energy to continue pouring in.

I know these transitions well and welcome the process of my work developing as a reflection of my journey into ever deeper states of conscious flow and authentic self-expression.

It feels liberating to let go of all that has been and exciting to embrace the quantum field of infinite possibilities without undue attachment to specific forms and outcomes.

A commitment to Conscious Writing leads to so much more than words on the page!

Yet Conscious Writing is now proven beyond a shadow of doubt as a holistic approach to ticking that box as well as the genuine discovery of voice and vocation.

So it’s a privilege for me to continue teaching, coaching and mentoring people from all walks of life who feel called to make a positive difference through sharing their message and stories with the written word.

The next opportunity to experience Conscious Writing live and in-person for a one day workshop is on SUNDAY 12 MAY at one of my favourite venues, Dartington Hall in Devon, SW England. Read more here.

Mindful Writing and Essential Summary

This month’s Free Member Interview will guide you to write mindfully and experience the power of translating detailed observation into words on the page. Read more here.

Finally, the feature article is on what I call a compelling key sentence and why it’s so crucial to come up with a powerful summary if you want to share your work with others. Read more here.

Have a wonderfully conscious and creative month!

February 7, 2019

Hi Conscious Writers!

February used to be my least favourite month of the year, and for various reasons, often felt like a challenging time for me.

A while back I chose to reframe my relationship with these weeks of overcast skies to focus on the positives as we head towards spring; as a result, my reality has been transformed.

Winds of Change

This year, February has brought the winds of change that have been blowing for some time right to the fore of my conscious experience.

Immersing myself in the flow, I’ve recently experienced a significant breakthrough in relation to the next phase of my work.

Many of the details are still to be sorted out. Yet the intuitive download feels completely in alignment with my highest calling and I’m looking forward to sharing more with you soon.

New One Day Workshop

In the meantime, I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be leading a one day workshop on SUNDAY 12 MAY at the utterly delightful Dartington Hall in Devon, SW England.

It’s called Discover Your True Voice through Conscious Writing and is for anyone who feels called to make authenticity a genuine priority for personal and professional writing of all kinds. Read more here.

Marketing and Time

This month’s Free Member Interview will guide you to develop a marketing plan that’s effective and manageable to follow whatever writing you have to share with others. Read more here.

Finally, I recently set myself the challenge to write some “quick read” blogs of 200 words or less which I’m enjoying the process of exploring.

The feature article is the first of these and addresses an equally troublesome challenge of feeling like there’s never enough time! Read more here.

Enjoy!

January 10, 2019

Hi Conscious Writers!

There may be a hard frost outside but the sky is clear blue and the winter sun is lighting up the landscape and my inspiration which feels deeply nourishing.

As I explained in my New Year’s message last week, 2019 started with a bang for me in the literal sense of a car crash and I’m still dealing with the impact of that at every level.

However, this has been yet another opportunity to interpret the message of the moment as a reminder to review my highest priorities and ensure that I’m following through on what feels truly important.

Conscious Writing Quantum Leap

One of my highest priorities genuinely is to write, live and lead consciously, creatively, authentically and joyfully, and to guide and support others to do the same.

So it’s heartwarming that my latest offering, the Conscious Writing Quantum Leap 3 month individual coaching package, has already been so well received.

There are still a few places left if you feel drawn to harness the energy of the New Year and take the leap with your creative ideas and personal or professional writing project(s). Read more here.

On Being a Writer + Your Creative Vision

This month’s Free Member Interview is with bestselling author and all round delightful guy Robert Holden who shares his insight and experience on writing as a path of enquiry. Read more here.

And if you’re looking for clarity on what your creative priorities truly are for 2019, this month’s feature article will guide you step-by-step through the process of finding out. Read more here.

Enjoy!

December 13, 2018

Hi Conscious Writers!

On this cold December day, I’m inspired to share with you that the recent Conscious Writing Retreat Reunion was memorably warm, deep and enriching for us all!

I’ve not lead a winter retreat before as the heat of summer has always beckoned.

Yet our collective experience of living and writing consciously and creatively proved to be a highlight of the season, and was described by participants as “a most wonderful, special, powerful and beautiful experience.”

Conscious Writing Quantum Leap

Since returning, I’ve been navigating the final choppy waters of the Mercury retrograde phase that I wrote about last month.

Thankfully it’s now direct again, so I’ve picked up the threads of moving forwards with new possibilities and I’m delighted to share a brand new project called Conscious Writing Quantum Leap.

Drawing on the alpha energy of the New Year, this three month individual coaching package will guide you to transform your creative experience and take a quantum leap forwards with your personal or professional writing project(s).

Starting in January, this exclusive opportunity is an expansion of my regular coaching and mentoring options for less than half the price! Read more here.

Writing for Healing and Creative Consistency

If you’re drawn to use writing as a healing tool for releasing what no longer serves you, you’ll enjoy this month’s IACCW Member interview with Catherine Ann Jones called Heal Yourself with Writing.

If you’re struggling to write consistently despite having the best intentions to do so, last week I celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the Conscious Writing for Creative Living blog by writing about one of my key learnings.

It’s called 7 Reasons to Be Creatively Consistent, and my intention is to inspire you to show up regularly and experience the cumulative rewards for yourself.

Finally, thank you for continuing to share this conscious and creative adventure with me, and I wish you truly wonderful Solstice and Yule time celebrations ahead.

With love

What’s new this month?

November 15, 2018

Hi Conscious Writers

In a few days time Mercury will begin a retrograde period (17 Nov to 6 Dec) which typically means that communications, technology and travel (amongst other things) may be disrupted.

There’s a great deal more to this recurring phase than is relevant to share here; however, if you want to learn more, searching for “Mercury retrograde” brings up over 6.5 million results!

In short, for a week or so before, during and after these times, it’s probably best to avoid launching anything new, making important decisions or signing a significant contract, especially if it’s related to communications.

Align with the Energy

However, you can align yourself with the energy of Mercury retrograde in a positive way and embrace it as a time to slow down, make genuinely conscious choices, and review what’s truly important for you.

I’m mentioning all of this because last week we experienced a number of issues relating to technology and communications which had an impact on all kinds of priorities including delaying the IACCW journal newsletter.

Fortunately we track the periods of Mercury retrograde so we were aware of the “big picture” influencing our situation which enabled us to take it in our stride and calmly (most of the time!) work towards resolution.

Focus on the Opportunities

Hopefully that will be it for our challenges this time around.

However, we’ll remain vigilant going forwards and from the state of being grounded in the present moment, focus on releasing all that belongs to yesterday and reflecting on new possibilities for tomorrow.

If you feel that releasing limiting beliefs around your writing might be beneficial, this month’s interview will guide you to do so using Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and the feature article will support you through writing an Unsent Letter.

Have a wonderfully conscious and creative month!

October 13, 2018

Hi Conscious Writers!

I love how fast transformation can be when the foundations of conscious practice are solidly in place!

Over the last few weeks I’ve experienced a profound inner shift that has brought me to a new level of internal alignment; always being, always becoming!

I’m currently on a mini sabbatical from creating major new projects and the simplified focus alongside the increased breathing space feels deeply liberating.

Core Passion and Purpose

Yes, there are some new ideas percolating as well as fresh versions of possibilities I’ve been exploring on and off for a while.

However, I’m not rushing forwards with any of them; instead I’m enjoying the process of allowing the creative sparks to catch light – or not, as the case may be – in their own good time.

All of this is feeding delightfully into the areas I am consciously choosing to continue with – my core passion and purpose expressed in my work through coaching, mentoring, writing my weekly blog and leading retreats.

Conscious Writing, Living and Leadership

I mentioned last month that I always offer Individual Retreats during the autumn and winter months for existing and new clients, and this year, the scope has expanded to include Conscious Writing, Living and Leadership.

Previously I’ve just had an Information Pack available to send to anyone who’s interested.

Today, I’m happy to share that the information is now live on the Julia McCutchen website for you to check out. Read more and click through for full details here.

I’m also gearing up for the Conscious Writing Retreat Reunion in November after which the end of the year will be upon us and 2019 will be just around the corner!

This Month

The IACCW Interview this month is on a question of perennial interest to writers, Do You Need a Literary Agent?

And the Feature Article is about another key area of importance to you as a Conscious Writer – Authenticity for Authors. Enjoy listening and reading…

What’s new this month?

September 10, 2018

Hi Conscious Writers!

I hope all’s well with you and that you’re enjoying a creatively inspired week so far.

I recently wrote a blog called “A Conscious Approach to Creative Growth and Development” and shared some of my realizations from the transition I made earlier this year relating to leading a Conscious Writing retreat at the Omega Institute.

At the end of the post I stated, “If things don’t work out for any reason, I’ll still have grown from the experience in preparation for whatever arises next. And that’s all fine with me.”

Walking Your Talk

Isn’t it fascinating how life so often provides you with the opportunity to “walk your talk” at ever deeper levels!

I’ve recently discovered that the retreat won’t be going ahead after all as the interest people have shown hasn’t translated into sufficient registrations to meet the official criteria for me to travel all the way from the UK.

So yes, initially I felt confused and disappointed by this outcome as I was very much looking forward to sharing this holistic experience with a whole new audience.

Divine Plan

However, I’m also in full acceptance of what “is” and totally trust the Divine Plan even though this part of it is still in the process of being revealed to me!

Remaining grounded in awareness and the perspective of infinity has opened up a whole new level of being that is revealing significant insights which I’m called to explore right now.

Ironically I feel completely on track despite this being an outcome I hadn’t anticipated, and I have no doubt that everything is working out for the highest good of all.

Conscious Writing, Living and Leadership

So I’m consciously choosing to use this gift of unexpected space to pause for a period of inner reflection, and after nearly 12 years of flowing from one new project to the next, the breathing space feels extremely welcome.

Naturally I’m continuing with the individual coaching and mentoring work I love, and as always at this time of year, I’m offering Individually Guided Retreats focused on Conscious Writing, Living and Leadership. Request an Information Pack here.

I’m also still very much looking forward to the Conscious Writing Retreat Reunion in November and delighted to share another wonderful interview with you on Content Marketing for Conscious Writers plus of course the feature article which I hope you’ll enjoy.

Beyond that… well, watch this space!

August 14, 2018

Hi Conscious Writers!

I hope your week is going well. Astonishingly, here we are in August already!

As the months pass with seemingly increasing speed, the unfolding dream of life gathers pace along with the development of our chosen creative projects – or not as the case may be?

In my case, over the last few weeks I’ve crossed another big threshold.

New Videos

I’ve followed through on my commitment to make some videos to share some of the content and my journey as I prepare for the Conscious Writing: Discover Your True Voice USA retreat.

I hope that you’ll check them out and enjoy watching them – see here.

Do please take a moment to make a comment as I’d truly love to know your reaction as I explore this new medium of video. Thanks in advance for doing so.

Time to Dive In

With regard to the retreat itself, it’s just a few short weeks away so if you’re still reflecting on whether to join us, now really is the time to dive in and book your place if this resonates with you at this time.

I know it’s a big commitment at every level.

However, the videos will give you a sense of what the retreat experience offers, this month’s Feature Article explains why Presence is one of our themes, and you can also read more about it generally by clicking here.

Writing and Publication

If you’re looking for inspiration to raise the bar on your commitment to writing regularly, this month’s IACCW Member interview with Judy Reeves on How to Make Every Day a Writing Day is definitely worth listening to. Click here to read more.

Finally, I’m delighted to share that IACCW Member Michelle Diener has recently published her first book called Lone Twin: A celebration of silver linings, sisterhood, and the cycles of life.

I’ll never forget the moment Michelle read a section of the manuscript out in the Open Mic session of the first ever Conscious Writing Retreat. It was such an indescribably powerful and moving experience for us all. Click here to read more.

Here’s to a wonderfully conscious and creative month!

What’s new this month?

July 9, 2018

Hi Conscious Writers!

It’s been many years since we enjoyed such a hot, dry summer here in the UK.

It’s a welcome respite after the cold, wet winter that seemed endless at the time yet now lingers as a distant memory.

I love seeing the vegetables and flowers grow so rapidly (yep, plenty of watering required!) and feel deep gratitude for the opportunity to eat dinner outside and watch the ever-changing sunset skies.

Yet of course every season has its challenges.

Rhythms and Retreats

For many Conscious Writers, as summer progresses and the children break up from school it becomes increasingly tough to maintain the regular practice they’ve worked so hard to develop.

I recently wrote a blog on how to manage this skillfully by creating two (or more) different writing rhythms for the different phases of life (read it here).

The other recommendation I always make when you’re inspired to write is to give yourself the gift of a writing retreat to immerse yourself in the process away from everyday commitments at least once during any writing project.

Conscious Writing USA

Naturally I’m inspired to recommend a Conscious Writing Retreat for this purpose as they are quite different from anything I’ve come across in the sense that they are truly holistic and transformative experiences.

The original blend of components work harmoniously together to open up in participants the deep space of authentic truth that Conscious Writing is all about; then the clarity, insights and writing flow freely from there.

The next one is in the US at the amazing Omega Institute, Rhinebeck NY from 9-14 September and you’re invited! Read more here.

Conscious Writing UK

After that, you’ll be eligible to participate in the first Conscious Writing Retreat Reunion which will be taking place in Oxfordshire from 28 – 30 November and open to everyone who’s been to a retreat before.

This came about because a delightfully committed group of women from the 2017 retreat specifically asked for another one.

Inspired by their enthusiasm, it occurred to me to invite everyone from previous retreats to a reunion to reconnect, meet other Conscious Writing Retreaters and co-create a schedule that would meet everyone’s current priorities. Read more about the retreat reunion here.

With that said, I hope you enjoy this month’s excellent IACCW FREE Member interview on writing a successful book proposal and the feature article on The Importance of Internal Validation for Conscious Writers.

Here’s to a wonderfully conscious and creative month!

What’s new this month?

June 7, 2018

Hi Conscious Writers!

I hope your week is going well and that you’re enjoying the onset of summer or winter depending on which hemisphere you’re in!

I’m just surfacing from what has been an intense phase which included the complexity and confusion around the EU General Data Protection Ruling which came into effect on 25 May.

I had to take the tough decision to postpone the Conscious and Creative Living Discovery Experience I announced last month in order to focus on the GDPR preparation.

So I’ll let you know when the moment comes for taking the next steps with that project.

In the meantime, my focus is returning to gearing up for the Conscious Writing: Discover Your True Voice USA retreat plus a few other ideas that are currently percolating including a new series of short Conscious Moment videos.

Before all of that I’m heading off for a holiday to recharge and review my next priorities before diving in to the next phase of the unfolding dream.

While I’m away, if you’re thinking about writing a memoir or are already underway with yours, you’ll enjoy this month’s IACCW Member interview with Linda Joy Myers. Read more here.

And if you’re in London this weekend, my friend and colleague Mark Matousek is leading his annual summer event on The Healing Power of Telling Your Story. Read more here.

Here’s to a wonderfully conscious and creative month!
