Conscious Writing is a holistic approach to creative awakening and vibrant writing. Its transformative power comes from learning to write from your true self, the eternal part of you that is naturally creative and free from resistance—the original source of your authentic voice. Author and intuitive mentor Julia McCutchen guides you to discover your voice and unlock your creativity through the Conscious Writing process, a proven method for transitioning into a deep creative flow aligned with your purpose. You:

  • Participate in opening and closing ceremonies
  • Explore a different theme each day
  • Experience guided energy, meditation, and visualization practices
  • Engage in a variety of creative exercises and plenty of writing

You work independently, in pairs, and in small groups within a safe, sacred space. You may choose to read your work aloud in an optional open mic session. Professional writers as well as enthusiasts are welcome.

Procrastination is a funny business. Here’s how to get that writing done – and done well enough.

The other day I was in a corporate running a workshop on procrastination. A lady, in her early thirties, was confessing to the group: ‘I haven’t hung my bookshelves up yet’, she said, ‘and I’ve been in my home for a few years now’. We all looked a little incredulous. After all, how long does it take to hang up a bookshelf? But when I asked her if she actually wanted to hang up her bookshelves, she simply said, ‘No’.

You may wonder why she was even thinking of hanging up bookshelves when she didn’t want to. And you may wonder why she was feeling guilty about not hanging up these bookshelves she didn’t even want to hang up, but that’s what procrastination can do to us.

Setting Goals

Many of the goals we set ourselves are things we don’t want to do. Why do people only want to lose weight in January? The truth is that they probably don’t really want to lose weight, but they think they ought to want to lose it. That feeling of ‘ought’ means that they never do more than diet for a few weeks and then spend the rest of the year procrastinating about doing the next bit of the diet – and feeling guilty about procrastinating.
