A Conscious & Creative Woman is Like a River Flowing…

May 22, 2017

Hi Conscious Writers!

As soon as I read the following quote, I knew it would become one of my favourites:

“A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.” Maya Angelou

It resonates deeply with me as my journey of creative self-realization has involved moving into true harmony with my spirit and forging my own authentic path (on-going!).

My process has included developing a conscious connection with the Divine Feminine and exploring the multitude of ways that yin energy can be expressed through who I am and what I do as I follow the path to my “destination”.

Pushing the River

There have been many challenges along the way as I was brought up to value the masculine, yang qualities of taking responsibility for making things happen, driving life forwards to achieve external success and generally pushing the river!

Sound familiar?

What’s new this month?

August 4, 2016

Julia McCutchenHi Conscious & Creative Writers!

With summer well and truly underway here in the UK, we’ve had our usual mix of warm sunshine and wet days.

This reminds me of the ups and downs of the creative process and the reality of authorship. As conscious writers, we all need to develop resilience in order to stay the course to completion and beyond!

We also need to carve out proper time and space to dive in to developing our ideas and doing our writing over and above the short regular stints we usually do, and the summer is a wonderful time to do just that.

Without this kind of creative immersion, our projects often take far longer than we’d ideally like and sometimes run out of steam altogether, ending up gathering dust at the back of the cupboard.

Individually Guided Conscious Writing Retreats

This month I’m offering you the opportunity to immerse yourself in your creative ideas and writing on a one, two or three day retreat working with me in person and on a one-to-one basis.

Wherever you are on your creative journey and no matter how little or how much experience you have, the retreat is tailored to suit your exact needs.

Perhaps you’re not yet clear about what ideas to focus on and haven’t written a word? Or maybe you’re already a blogger, author or coach ready to explore your next creative and business steps?

These individually guided retreats will take place on dates to be agreed between us during the months of August, September, October and November. Read more here.

Conscious Writing Online Course

If you’re not able to travel to attend an in-person retreat, you might be interested in the new online course that I’m in the process of creating.

It’s going to be a wonderful new way for you to experience conscious writing and I’m looking forward to sharing more information about it with you soon.

In the meantime, if you’d like to sign up to receive advance notification about it, simply send me an email here or use info@iaccw.com

Finally, I’m delighted to share the details of a Super Natural Healing Summit which starts on Monday 15 August. The focus is How to Create Emotional, Physical and Spiritual Health and Lead Your Thriving Joyful Life and you can listen to my interview on the healing aspects of conscious writing for free on Friday 26 August. Read more here.

Till next month…

CW_RETREAT2016_GROUP_cropped750What an amazing experience we all had at the sold out Conscious Writing Retreat a few weeks ago!

Powerful from the start, the transformative energy rippled through each and every
one of us.

Immersion in the tools and techniques of conscious writing and creative living led to comments such as this:

  • ‘A pristine space to give birth to new creations; an inspiring space to envision; a safe space to reflect; a loving space to connect.’ Kelley Osborne, writer, teacher and healer www.yogatreeoflife.co.uk
  • ‘I took a journey back to myself – a coming home. I feel restored and positive about what is possible now for my writing and my life. I came with an open mind; I left with a happy heart.’ Louise Hatch, writer and business woman www.louisehatch.com
  • ‘Relaxing, joyful, expansive, creative and insightful!’ Claire Taylor, business storytelling consultant/trainer www.thestorymill.co.uk and www.deliciouslynourishing.com

Julia McCutchenHi Conscious & Creative Writers!

I hope that all’s well with you and that you’re successfully navigating whatever transitions are taking place within you and in your life right now.

I recently had an “aha” moment of realization that all the people I work with are either on the brink or in the middle of some kind of transition. These relate to their process of self-discovery, creative unfolding, writing aspirations, and more.

Identifying this immediately made complete sense as it’s a reflection of my own journey following a life changing accident 17 years ago which triggered a series of major transitions for me on the path of deep transformation.

Internal Focus + External Guidance

When we’re in transition, although the primary focus is internal, the right kind of external guidance that is aligned with Truth opens up a whole new space for us to find our way forwards with a fresh perspective.

Quantum leaps become possible and we gradually discover a new way of being that is increasingly congruent with our true nature. Finding our true calling as writers and in life naturally arises from this process.

Tough those these transitions often are, it’s an amazingly creative approach to life that is filled with delightful surprises, and ultimately a true sense of freedom and fulfillment!

Two Opportunities

The reason I’m sharing this with you today (and also why our June newsletter is being published a day early) is that there are two opportunities for external guidance currently available but only for a short time. So I’m inspired to let you know about them in case they resonate with you at this time:

  • Guidance from 100 bestselling authors, teachers and international experts on all aspects of healing, spirituality, prosperity, relationships and self-empowerment including Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Julia Cameron (and yours truly!) – Hay House World Summit access deadline tomorrow, WEDNESDAY 1 JUNE. Read more here.
  • Four days away from everyday commitments to focus on deepening your connection to your creative soul, finding your true voice and translating your “right work” into the words of your blog, book, business communications and more at the 2016 Conscious Writing Retreat – booking deadline for the last place is this FRIDAY 3 JUNE. Read more here.

Wherever you are on your journey of transformation through conscious writing and creative living, may your inner unfolding attract the right kind of external guidance to support each and every step you take!

Till next month…

3 Major Benefits of Immersion Time for Conscious Writers

hourglass-1289782_640Writing a book is a huge commitment of time and energy, especially when we approach it with the intention of writing deeply with full awareness as Conscious Writing invites us to do.

We can only truly appreciate what is involved when we dedicate ourselves to taking action rather than simply mulling it over as a future possibility.

And if we want to avoid our book taking forever to complete, we need to create a regular rhythm that includes a mix of short to medium bursts of daily writing alongside longer stretches of what I call “immersion time”.

This is when we schedule time out from other commitments to dive deeply into our topic and our writing with as few distractions as possible.

Immersion time can be anything from half a day to one, two, three or more days on retreat. Once we transition fully into creative writing mode, most of us would happily continue with it full time!

My own experience of immersion time when I was writing my latest book combined with my work with people at all stages of the creative process, proves the case that choosing to prioritize our writing is a priceless gift. Here’s why …

What’s new this month?

March 9, 2016

Julia McCutchenHi Conscious & Creative Writers!

Well, I’m back at my desk after a wonderful break that was a mix of recharging, clearing space and creative visioning – just what I needed, and ideal inspiration for this month’s article.

Over the last few months I’ve had a strong feeling that I’m at the end of an era and the start of a whole new one. This is a fairly regular occurrence for me as my journey of creative awakening includes on-going transformation at ever deeper levels.

Endings and Beginnings

However, some of these endings and new beginnings are more significant than others. This one has been massive in relation to my work; I found myself shredding and burning papers going back 10 years to when I first started online!

It’s felt hugely cleansing and I’m filled with gratitude for the sense of completion it included. I’ve remained fully respectful of all that has been which brought me to my current space of being yet simultaneously totally ready to let it all go and relish the space it’s created for whatever lies ahead.

I’m inspired to write more about this in the coming months. In the meantime, I smiled when I read recently that today is a solar eclipse and tomorrow is a new moon – both of which relate to endings and beginnings! Perhaps you’re feeling it too?

Welcoming the ‘New’

Of course the new energy is already arriving, and last month I explained how ‘creative awakening’ is arising to take its rightful place alongside conscious writing as my core teaching.

In fact, the very first Creative Awakening one day workshop is taking place in just 10 days time on Saturday 19 March. I’ve loved preparing this new content and am so looking forward to guiding people through the process. Read more here.

Mentoring

I’m also delighted to be offering creative awakening as well as conscious writing as options for the new six month mentoring series starting in April.

There’s been a great response so far and we have just two places remaining. The application deadline is 24 March. Read more here.

Retreat

Naturally I’m still passionate about conscious writing too and it’s the primary focus of our retreat which is taking place from 10th to 13th June. The Early Bird tickets have sold out which means that the Tier One tickets are now on sale! Read more here.

If you’ve yet to have a live experience of conscious writing, I’m also leading a one day workshop that will give you a real taste of its potential next month. More details here.

Wherever you are in your current cycle of conscious and creative living, I wish you deep joy and abundant success, whatever that means for you.

What’s new this month?

February 8, 2016

Julia McCutchenHi Conscious & Creative Writers!

I love the magic and mystery of the creative process; how the invisible realms give rise to a multitude of visible forms – words, pictures, sounds and more.’

These are the first words of my latest article which tells the story of the way in which creative awakening has become my latest creative offering as an example of how you can follow the lead of your creative unfolding.

In a few short months creative awakening – where the journey of self-discovery meets authentic self-expression in all areas of life – has turned into:

  • several articles
  • a one day workshop in March
  • an option for the six month Mentoring Series starting in April
  • and a major interview to be broadcast in May!

I’m especially delighted to be offering creative awakening as an option for the Mentoring Series alongside my on-going commitment to conscious writing as my core teaching. Read more here.

I hope you’ll consider this broader focus as an opportunity for guidance on your journey of self-discovery and authentic self-expression, and I’d love to know your reaction to the idea generally (send me an email here).

In the meantime…

… the Conscious Writing Scholarship will be offered later in the year (July application: September start) which of course comes after our annual Retreat (10-13 June) which is almost sold out at the Early Bird price!

I’m also delighted to share that my good friend Publisher Linda Joy just released the 10th Anniversary Issue of Aspire Magazine and my article on Creativity: A Path to Freedom and Fulfilment in Your Business and Your Life is included! See here.

You might also like to check out my latest radio interview for the delightful Marianne Pestana and a couple of one day workshops in the Dates for Your Diary section, so there’s plenty on offer to support you with your creative unfolding during 2016.

Personal Visioning + Creative Retreat

Next week I’m off for some mid-winter recharging and after that I’m taking some additional time out for a personal visioning and creative retreat to develop my new ideas in more detail!

So I’ll look forward to catching up with you again early March, and while I’m away from my desk, my wonderful assistant Justine will be on hand to schedule time for us to have a quick chat about the mentoring options if that offering appeals to you at this time.

To your conscious & creative success!

What’s new this month?

January 8, 2016

Julia McCutchenHi Conscious & Creative Writers!

I hope that you had a fabulous festive season and are looking forward to all that 2016 has in store for you.

Not everyone resonates with the fresh energy of the New Year on 1 January.

And I fully respect that there are many options for celebrating the turn of the year such as 1 November which is Samhain in the Celtic calendar.

My choice is to pay attention and celebrate them all in some way as the end of one phase and the start of the next.

Living a conscious and creative life involves multiple completions and commencements which provide us with excellent opportunities for releasing the old and welcoming the new. This is the energy which has inspired my latest article.

The Next Chapter of Your Life

I’d love to encourage you to make the time and space to make conscious choices about what you want to include in the next chapter of your life.

Hopefully you’ll be inspired to dive ever more deeply into your growth and development as a Conscious Writer, and as ever, we have a couple of offerings to support you to create the reality you envision for yourself:

1. Conscious Writing Retreat: FRI 10 to MON 13 JUNE

What’s new this month?

December 11, 2015

Julia McCutchenHi Conscious & Creative Writers!

As we draw towards the end of what has been a ‘full on’ year, I invite you to reflect on what you’re ready to release in order to create space for new opportunities in 2016?

In my case, I’ve let go of the intensity required to launch my new book (yang, active, masculine energy) and have immersed myself in the complementary yin, receptive, feminine energy to re-balance the whole.

The internal spaciousness has already opened up a number of new possibilities including interest in creative awakening which is the conscious approach to creativity as a way of being that Conscious Writing is one expression of.

In fact, this month’s article describes my shift from seeing creativity as an ‘optional extra’ to realizing that it is a fundamental requirement for my happiness, health and well-being as a crucial step in my own creative awakening.

Conscious Writing Circles and 2016 Retreat

I’m also embracing increased levels of collaboration with like-minded others which beautifully echoes the recommendations I’ve created for everyone who feels a resonance with Conscious Writing to share the adventure through Conscious Writing Circles. Read more here.

If connecting with like-minded Conscious Writers resonates with you, you might also be interested to know that we’ll be opening the doors to the Early Bird tickets for the 2016 Conscious Writing Retreat in the New Year.

We already have quite a few people on the Advance Notification list so if you’d like to take advantage of the limited number of discounted tickets, add your name by clicking here.

Recommended

Finally, one of the connections I’ve appreciated recently has been with the wonderful team at Conscious Lifestyle magazine.

The article I wrote for their current issue is called Finding Your True Self: 5 Practices for Discovering Your Unique Voice through Creative Expression which you can read here.

The quality of the magazine is top notch and they are looking for Conscious Writers as contributors for future issues so if you’re interested to read the magazine and submit an article to them, learn more from the ‘Recommended’ section of this month’s newsletter here.

It just remains for me to thank you once more for sharing this conscious & creative journey with me and to wish you an abundance of joy over the coming holiday season.

To your conscious & creative success!
