Heal Yourself with Conscious Writing

September 5, 2016

mandala-1302804_640I’ve worked with many writers over the years who feel that writing is an absolute lifeline they can’t do without. Zen Buddhist, teacher and author Gail Sher says that it saved her life. Others feel that it restores their sanity in a crazy and chaotic world.

The therapeutic benefits of writing are well documented and include easing the feelings of emotional trauma, reducing stress, solving problems more effectively and even speeding up physical healing.

Conscious Writing incorporates all of these and guides us into the deepest realms of true healing; healing that restores our innate sense of wholeness.

Whether we realize it or not, we all have what we could call an ‘original wound’ which is the convincing illusion of separation from oneness with all that is.

Healing this primal wound happens naturally when we dissolve everything that gets in the way of us realizing our true nature as an expression of wholeness and transform our lives to become authentic reflections of our soul.

So how does Conscious Writing contribute to this core process of healing and transformation?

What’s new this month?

May 31, 2016

Julia McCutchenHi Conscious & Creative Writers!

I hope that all’s well with you and that you’re successfully navigating whatever transitions are taking place within you and in your life right now.

I recently had an “aha” moment of realization that all the people I work with are either on the brink or in the middle of some kind of transition. These relate to their process of self-discovery, creative unfolding, writing aspirations, and more.

Identifying this immediately made complete sense as it’s a reflection of my own journey following a life changing accident 17 years ago which triggered a series of major transitions for me on the path of deep transformation.

Internal Focus + External Guidance

When we’re in transition, although the primary focus is internal, the right kind of external guidance that is aligned with Truth opens up a whole new space for us to find our way forwards with a fresh perspective.

Quantum leaps become possible and we gradually discover a new way of being that is increasingly congruent with our true nature. Finding our true calling as writers and in life naturally arises from this process.

Tough those these transitions often are, it’s an amazingly creative approach to life that is filled with delightful surprises, and ultimately a true sense of freedom and fulfillment!

Two Opportunities

The reason I’m sharing this with you today (and also why our June newsletter is being published a day early) is that there are two opportunities for external guidance currently available but only for a short time. So I’m inspired to let you know about them in case they resonate with you at this time:

  • Guidance from 100 bestselling authors, teachers and international experts on all aspects of healing, spirituality, prosperity, relationships and self-empowerment including Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Julia Cameron (and yours truly!) – Hay House World Summit access deadline tomorrow, WEDNESDAY 1 JUNE. Read more here.
  • Four days away from everyday commitments to focus on deepening your connection to your creative soul, finding your true voice and translating your “right work” into the words of your blog, book, business communications and more at the 2016 Conscious Writing Retreat – booking deadline for the last place is this FRIDAY 3 JUNE. Read more here.

Wherever you are on your journey of transformation through conscious writing and creative living, may your inner unfolding attract the right kind of external guidance to support each and every step you take!

Till next month…

What’s new this month?

December 10, 2014

JuliaMcCutchen_darkpurple150Hi Conscious & Creative Writers!

It’s a cold and frosty December morning as I write this last newsletter for 2014. The winter sunshine is pouring through the window and I feel inspired to reflect on the year as it draws to a close.

Conscious Writing Retreat

In January we opened the doors to the first group Conscious Writing Retreat which took place at the end of May. Places sold out within a matter of weeks and the response from participants was phenomenal! I fell in love with leading retreats so we’re offering the same experience next year. Early Bird tickets will be available in January.

In February we offered the 2nd Conscious Writing Scholarship and three writers were awarded free and discounted places for six months of mentoring. I am humbled by the outstanding progress that has been made, and we will be offering this opportunity again in 2015.

Each month we have shared wisdom and insight on conscious & creative topics from a range of fabulous speakers for our Member Events. We have continued to grow our international membership and our favourite conversations will become the “Best of 2014 Interviews” audio CD collection.

Conscious Writing Community

We also re-launched the IACCW Facebook page and are continuing to post regular tips and inspiration to build and support of our Conscious Writing community. Please join us there and “Like” the page if you haven’t already. We love connecting with you directly and warmly welcome your posts and comments!

Individually Guided Retreats

These were created for writers who prefer one to one guidance and individually tailored coaching support. The incredible benefits of this deep immersion away from the usual commitments of everyday life were richly rewarding for all concerned.

Personal Progress

The contribution I make through all of our IACCW offerings arises from my personal practice. As a result, this year my work has reached a whole new level. Hay House will be publishing my new book called Conscious Writing: How to Write from the Heart with the Voice of Your Soul in September 2015. I am delighted to be partnering with such an innovative publisher to spread the word about this holistic approach to deep creative writing.

I am also honoured to have been named by WE Magazine as one of the Top 100 Women in Ecommerce Class of 2014. It didn’t occur to me that I would ever see my face on the cover of a magazine but it just goes to show that you never know what’s around the next corner when you commit to living your truth!

There are always challenges along the way, yet being fully present to all that is, shows us the way to remain in integrity and take skilful action.

On that note, I wish you a fabulous festive season and will look forward to catching up with you again in 2015!

Five Steps to Conscious Writing Freedom

October 6, 2014

ViewFromSteps_normandy-291367_640We all have limiting beliefs to one degree or another relating to our capacity to create, our ability to write or the potential we have as authors – or not as the case may be.

The beliefs we have are not just thoughts in our minds; they usually have powerful emotions attached and are like crystallized energy that becomes locked in the body right down to the cellular level.

Some deeply rooted beliefs require professional help to release, and there are many options available today such as the powerful energy healing technique of Life Alignment.*

However, we can make genuine progress with shifting our belief structure ourselves as long as we approach the task with as much deep self awareness as we are able to bring at the time we decide to take action.

The following Five Step Process is for discovering the beliefs you currently have in relation to creativity and letting go of those which do not serve you.

Allow plenty of time on your own and without interruption so you feel spacious enough for deep exploration and release. Take breaks between the steps if necessary to process your thoughts and feelings – walking in nature is always a good option – and rest when you need to.

This same process can also be applied to other areas of your life, including writing. Simply adapt the questions in Step 1 accordingly.

What’s new this month?

September 10, 2014

JuliaMcCutchen_darkpurple150Hi Conscious & Creative Writers!

I’m just surfacing from a few days of retreat from the everyday world which is a priority I recommend to all conscious creatives.

This time I’ve immersed myself deeply in writing and have completed the next chapter of my book – happy days 🙂 In fact there are a number of “happenings” around the book at the moment which I’ll look forward to sharing with you soon.

In the meantime, the year is flying by and September always feels like a wonderful time to turn over a new leaf and raise the bar on our chosen priorities (perhaps this is the “back to school” groove still at play?)

Whatever the trigger, there have been a number of conversations had with writers lately who are feeling the “if not now, when?” dynamic in relation to their book projects.

This leads me to our current offering of Individually Guided Conscious Writing Retreats which is already making a difference to the projects and the overall perspective of participants.

We now have just 2 places left for anyone who would like to explore what happens when a commitment to write is consciously & creatively guided forwards on a one-to-one basis. Read more here.

If you’re feeling in need of a more general boost to your conscious and creative impulses and are going to be in London at the start of October, this may be of interest.

We have once again arranged with Hay House UK to offer a special 10% discount for all IACCW Members who would like to attend their forthcoming I Can Do It! Event. Read more here.

Finally, if you’d like to know more about connecting with your muse, you’ll enjoy reading this month’s article called Meet Your Muse: Source of Wisdom and Creativity by award-winning book coach and IACCW speaker Lisa Tener.

Whatever choices you make about your creative writing this month, make sure they are conscious ones!

Meet Your Muse: Source of Wisdom and Creativity

September 8, 2014

beachrockslisa200I am delighted to introduce this guest article by award-winning book coach Lisa Tener. Enjoy!

The term “muse” comes from the ancient Greeks and refers to the goddesses who inspire the creation of literature and the arts. You can view the muse as a wise inner teacher: Imagine a part of you that has solutions to your every creative challenge. It has the power to shift negative perceptions that get in the way of your creative flow. And it can help you access inspiration for your writing at any time.

Surrounded by a pile of notes and having tried to structure her first chapter several different ways, Vicky felt confused and overwhelmed. To get unstuck, she asked her muse for clarity. She imagined her muse as “much larger and wiser than me” and trusted it to guide her. Then she fell asleep. When she woke up and sat at her desk to write the chapter, the writing flowed and the organization worked well.
